Great Southern Bank and Helia host broker roundtables

THREE BROKER roundtable events were held by Great Southern Bank (GSB) and Helia in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney in May.

The events – led by head of branches and broker Mathew Patterson and hosted by comedian and entertainer Merrick Watts – saw the bank and LMI provider share the findings of GSB’s recently commissioned No Place Like Home to deep dive into the home ownership experience and how brokers and lenders can help more Australians start their home buying journey.

Liberty goes All Star with extended A-League partnership

THE NON-BANK lender has become the principal partner of the inaugural A-League All Stars Women’s team.

The first four A-League All Stars soccer players to be announced (Alex Chidiac, Hannah Wilkinson, Nestory Irankunda and Daniel Penha) unveiled the new Liberty-branded kit at Marvel Stadium ahead of their match against Arsenal Women’s FC.

Liberty’s CEO James Boyle expressed pride in supporting gender equality in football and highlighted the historic growth of women’s football in Australia. Liberty is also a major partner of the A-League All Stars Men’s team.

AFG supports crisis centre kitchen

AGGREGATOR AUSTRALIAN FINANCE GROUP’S (AFG) Perth sales team and six AFG brokers teamed up in May to prepare and serve meals to 292 people in need at the crisis support centre Tranby Engagement Hub. The centre supports adults who are experiencing homelessness in and around the city of Perth. Brokers in attendance were Josh De Buelle, Jake Hindley, Rohan Kandiah, and Cary Paddick from FiNEXT and Aoife Farrell and Elizabeth Barnes from Central Lending Solutions. AFG team members included Western Australian state manager Jia Jia Wong, David Drinkwater (national sales manager of commercial and asset finance), Andy Drake (Western Australian state sales manager), Lisa Lam (partnership manager), and Sanil Shah (partnership support manager).
