A new-to-industry broker received top honours at The Adviser’s Better Business Awards in Melbourne last night.
Hundreds of mortgage professionals gathered at the city’s Crown ballroom where they recognised the state’s best performers.

Jason Guo of Centum Mortgage Group took out the event’s most coveted title, Broker of the Year. Mr Guo was also named the state’s Best Newcomer.
Mark Davis of The Australian Lending & Investment Centre was named Best Residential Broker, while Marios Rokka of The Practice was awarded Best Finance Broker.
Frank Durso of AUS Finance Group was awarded Best Commercial Broker and Anthony Clough of Aussie Horsham took out the Best Regional Broker title.
The Rising Star award was given to Josh Gilbert of Loan Market, while Sarah Farrugia of SAF Finance was awarded Best Customer Service for an individual.
Chris Foster-Ramsay of Capital Home Loans picked up the Editor's Choice award.
In the group awards, Intuitive Finance was named Best Independent Office (five or less brokers), while Acceptance Finance took out Best Independent Office (more than five brokers). Intuitive Finance also picked up the award for Best Customer Service for its office.
Astute Financial Melbourne City South won the top gong for Best Branded Office, while Aussie Caroline Springs was crowned Best New Office and Loan Market Geelong City was awarded Best Regional Office.
In the broker support categories, Mark Darmanin of Advantedge won Best Lender BDM, while Ross Laurenson of Vow Financial was awarded Best Aggregator BDM.
Best Loan Administrator went to Annie Papagrigoriou of Jo Attard & Co.
