Insurer makes broker-centric appointment

A specialty insurer has strengthened its business offering with the appointment of a new regional sales manager, specifically for the mortgage broking segment.

LFI Group has appointed Bernadette Wood to its business development team, to shore up its provision of insurance solutions for the home loan industry.

General manager, Dean Cullen, said whilst the provision of insurance solutions in the motor finance market is relatively mature, this is not the case for mortgage brokers.

He said Ms Wood’s appointment will help LFI’s business partners better utilise its product offering to protect their clients.

“We’ve had a busy 18 months building up a large network of authorised representatives in each state,” he added.

“Now we want to offer the help and support those business partners need to really maximise the number of insurance transactions they write,” Mr Cullen said.

Ms Wood said she is excited to join an insurance company that understands mortgage broking.

“This is an exceptional opportunity to be a part of a rapidly growing insurance company that has created simple products that suit the challenges brokers face every day.

“I look forward to working with our business partners to help them grow their businesses.”

Ms Wood has 14 years’ experience in the mortgage broking and real estate channels, with Allianz Australia, NAB and Suncorp/GIO.
