Something in the water

I am a lover of water. I don’t live close to the water, but we do make a point [of going], whether it’s going to the local waterfalls, down to the beach, or out on the boat. As long as I’m near water, I’m happy.

We do try to do that every few weeks – probably not as often as I like, hence why I need to start going away for the weekend!

Footy and family

There are a few things I do. I like to watch a bit of local footy. But no phones. [The] phones are gone. My son still plays. So [I] get out and watch him play.

Family and friends – catching up for dinner, catching up with the family. I’ve got four grandkids and two on the way, so that keeps us really busy. I really enjoy getting out with them and the family and spending some time down the beach.

Train and gain

I love to train. I love to get to the gym. I love to go for a run or a walk. I love to get on my bike. Those things help my head as much as my heart and everything else.

I [also] like to take the dog for a walk. Generally, I do that with the wife and we’ll just talk and vent or whatever we’re doing and ask one another about their day.

Cooking and caravaning

COOKING FOR the family. I love smoking meat, cooking over charcoal, making beef jerky and hot sauce, and all that sort of stuff. It just helps to de-stress.

‘ We bought a caravan two and a half years ago. I’ve recently just upgraded that one. Being able to go away in a caravan is fantastic. You can even decide to not take the laptop, go somewhere where there’s no reception, and genuinely switch off.
