The future is here

Technology may have been slow to filter through to the broker channel, but now that it’s here, it’s evolving at lightning speed.

In this month’s edition of The Adviser magazine, we’re taking a look at the ever-evolving landscape of mortgage technology and artificial intelligence (AI). Whether it’s the lenders transforming into digital beasts (like Bankwest), aggregators harnessing and testing open banking and AI, or broker-built tech working to overcome the administrative headaches and speed up the mortgage process, there’s a heap of insights and knowledge essential for navigating the rapidly changing world of lending in this issue.

In our cover story (page 20, we’re looking at the lay of the land and how the different segments of the market are using the transformative power of mortgage technology. From streamlining processes to enhancing customer experiences, technology has revolutionised the way loans are written. We’ve also gone out to brokers to ask them what they are using in their day-to-day (page 4), in the hopes that you uncover some gems that might help you.

And make sure you check out how one aggregation group – the Lendi Group – is moving to embrace AI for its brokers. AI in the broker space (page 18) explores how the group is automating mundane tasks to providing personalised recommendations to clients and enhancing broker efficiency to deliver unparalleled value to their clients.

Elsewhere in the magazine, we’re examining the driving forces behind the growth in self-employed lending. With more individuals choosing entrepreneurial paths, understanding the unique needs of this demographic is crucial for brokers aiming to capture this expanding market.

Check out our sector report on the theme, The self-employed surge, on page 26.

And if you didn’t manage to make it to our glitzy Better Business Awards 2024, run in partnership with NAB, then you can find out who the lucky winners are from each of the state-based awards on page 32. Many congratulations to all the winners!
