First started in July 2008 by three friends who made a pact to go teetotal for the entire month and fundraise for their local hospital, the day has gone on to become an international movement.

Those taking part in Dry July can fundraise via the Dry July Foundation platform (which includes the option of buying a ‘golden ticket’ for any special occasions where the participant may wish to drink).

The money collected during Dry July facilitates crucial services, including transportation to medical appointments, support from specialised nurses, access to informative resources, participation in therapy programs, and accommodation near treatment facilities.

Moreover, taking a break from alcohol for a month offers significant health advantages, including improved hydration levels, improved sleep quality, and heightened energy levels, among others.
