Aussie wins over Wizard franchisees

Aussie has announced that more than 100 Wizard franchisees have now signed agreements despite a number of groups turning to the ACCC in a dispute over franchisee contracts.

On Monday the ACCC granted a group of around 100 Wizard franchisees the right to collectively bargain the terms of the franchise agreement negotiated between ex-owner GE Money and new owner Aussie Home Loans.

But Aussie CEO Stephen Porges told Mortgage Business that around 50 per cent of the franchisees who lodged the application with the ACCC in February had since signed over to Aussie.

And Mr Porges said that the groups had agreed to the original contracts, stressing that there “had not been and would not be any changes made to the franchise agreements.”

Mr Porges said his expectations are that the number of Wizard franchisees that have completed the switch will soon rise to 120 franchisees.
