Listed aggregator eChoice has hired Stephen Gibson to manage activity in the Queensland region.

Paul Liccione, general manager of sales and distribution at eChoice, said the broker network will draw significant benefit from Mr Gibson’s industry knowledge and career background, with his proven expertise in business development and sales across the financial services sector.

“Stephen brings a dedicated people-focus to this role. He thrives on getting the best out of team members and adapting to different environments, which was a critical element of his appointment in helping drive our growing activity in the aggregation market,” Mr Liccione said.

He highlighted that Mr Gibson understands the commercial realities and challenges of business from both sides of the fence, having worked for large financial institutions as well as being a self-employed business writer.

“Stephen is passionate about ensuring quality control is paramount in relation to financial advice, whether that service is delivered through a large company or a sole operator. And having that added level of quality assurance for any broker allows them to get on with the business of writing business.”

Mr Gibson commenced his career with the Commonwealth Bank where for over 15 years he worked within the group’s retail, personal lending and local banking divisions.

He went on to hold management positions with several financial groups and most recently managed a team of in-house consultants, finance strategists and property consultants.
