Under the program, each time a NSW or Queensland-based junior rugby league club sends a member to an Aussie mortgage broker for a no obligation appointment, the club receives $100.
Seagulls and Bilambil junior rugby league clubs – both located in Tweed Heads on the North coast of NSW – tied for the top award across Australia.
Both clubs provided their local Aussie franchise with 58 appointments.
As such, both received almost $6,000 in charitable donations from Aussie to go towards new equipment and operating costs.
Bilambil Junior Rugby League Club representative Andy Curry told the local paper that the money would go towards training gear.
“It will also go to finishing the players’ dug out and other things to assist the kids,” Mr Curry said.
“It’s fantastic for junior sport in Tweed Heads and it is great to share the top title with another local club.”
