Sarah Chan – who has been a relationship manager at outsource Financial for the past two years and was previously a protective service officer with the Australian Federal Police – has been promoted to the newly vacated head of training and education (T&E) role.
Chan takes over from Heather Gallagher, who left outsource Financial earlier this month for a newly created head of customer success role at fintech Salestrekker.
outsource Financial said Chan’s unwavering dedication to broker development and her passion for empowering through education had already been a driving force behind the group’s learning programs.
Meanwhile, industry veteran Michael Fowkes has been named outsource Financial’s relationship manager for Victoria.
With a career spanning almost 40 years in finance – including more than 13 years at Aussie (now part of Lendi Group) – Fowkes has extensive experience in broking, having also been a broker lending consultant at Auswide Bank and a national sales manager at First Permanent Home Loans.
Both appointments were effective from 1 November.
Commenting on the new appointments, outsource Financial CEO Tanya Sale said: “Both Sarah and Michael bring incredible energy, talent and commitment to their roles.
“Sarah’s passion for training is contagious, and she’s already demonstrated her ability to elevate our T&E programs to new heights.
“Michael’s extensive experience and hands-on approach make him a perfect fit for Victoria, and I’m confident he’ll make a significant impact.
“As outsource Financial continues to prioritise broker success and innovation, these new appointments signal the company’s commitment to excellence and leadership in the finance industry.”
Speaking of her promotion, Chan said: “I believe that knowledge is power, and I love seeing how training can transform a broker’s career.
“With 2025 on the horizon, I’m excited to implement new programs and work collaboratively to ensure our T&E offerings are not only innovative but also impactful for our members.”
Fowkes said: “After a decade with one aggregator, I was eager to broaden my horizons and learn new processes. outsource Financial stood out as the ideal fit, with its innovative approach and broker-centric culture.”
