Aquamore joins Connective’s lender panel

by Will Paige6 minute read

The private lender’s commercial lending products will now be available to Connective brokers writing business loans.

Non-bank business lender Aquamore has joined the lender panel of major aggregation group Connective to help meet the “increased demand” for larger commercial loans.

Established in 2016, the private lender provides institutionally backed, property-secured commercial loans (business and property) available exclusively through brokers.

The Sydney-based lender said its addition to the panel would help Connective brokers cater for the growing number of businesses seeking larger ticket short-term commercial finance facilities.

Connective’s newly appointed head of commercial and asset finance, Brent Starrenburg, said the lender provided brokers with alternatives where traditional banks may not be an option, adding: “[P]rivate lending is expanding rapidly as businesses seek alternative finance solutions.

“With banks tightening credit policies, private lenders like Aquamore play a critical role in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Brokers are key to this process, ensuring clients access reputable lenders who provide structured, strategic funding solutions.”

Looking ahead at the commercial lending landscape in 2025, Starrenburg said: “As the cash rate stabilises, demand for commercial finance will continue to grow. Brokers will play a vital role in delivering tailored funding strategies that help businesses navigate evolving market conditions.”

Speaking on joining Connective’ lender panel, Aquamore head of distribution Matthew Porch said: “Aquamore is delighted to come on board and is well-placed to meet the increased demand for larger commercial loans – in particular the 5–10 million market, which is underserved.

“Brokers are inherently solutions-focused, and private lenders are well-positioned to offer tailored solutions aligned with the shifts in major lenders’ credit appetites and documentation requirements.”

Connective has been expanding in the commercial finance space, with an ongoing focus on growing its lender panel and integrating new technology aimed at helping brokers process loans more efficiently.

In November, Connective Asset Finance integrated with commercial finance loan matching platform Financeable to offer its brokers an “end-to-end technology solution” for asset and business finance.
