outsource Financial launches initiative to support female brokers

by Will Paige6 minute read

The aggregator’s female founders want to create a community that encourages women to succeed in broking.

Aggregation group outsource Financial has launched a new initiative to empower, support, and connect female brokers across the industry.

Launched in tandem with International Women’s Day (8 March 2025), the outsource Women’s Network (OWN) program is seeking to boost gender equality in the financial sector while celebrating the achievements of female brokers.

The program, which uses the tagline “OWN it.”, will include events throughout the year aimed at educating and creating networks among participants.

It will also provide a platform for female brokers to connect, build solidarity, and encourage one another to achieve greater professional and personal success, outsource said.

OWN has already begun with launch luncheons held in NSW, Victoria, and Queensland, setting the stage for more events to connect female brokers in the future.

With the program’s launch, outsource Financial founders, CEO Tanya Sale and CFO Andrea Tassis, said they looked forward to hosting more events that support women in finance.

“OWN it. is not just about creating connections, but fostering a community that encourages every woman to realise her full potential,” Sale said.

“As a company led by women, we are proud to take this step towards empowering our incredible female brokers.”

Tassis, who attended the NSW launch luncheon, said: “Today marks the beginning of something truly special.

“With OWN it., we are building a platform for female brokers to inspire and celebrate one another. This initiative embodies the spirit of collaboration and support that drives us at outsource Financial.”

The number of female brokers in the industry increased between October 2023 and March 2024 to its highest level since 2018, according to MFAA research.

However, compared to the overall broker population, the percentage of female brokers was just 26.7 per cent, down 0.2 percentage points year on year.

The number of new female recruits also fell, in both volume and proportion, period on period.

To find out more about how women are making an impact on the broking industry, join us for an afternoon at the Women in Finance Network Lunch, where industry peers gather to create connections that really matter.

Two-time world champion and four-time Commonwealth champion, Jana Pittman, will keynote the lunch, with ANZ as the principal partner. Secure your ticket now!
