House Hunters Australia TV show to feature Aussie brokers

by Annie Kane7 minute read

Brokers and buyer’s agents operating under the renewed Aussie brand will feature on the upcoming House Hunters Australia TV show, as part of a sponsorship agreement.

Lendi Group has confirmed that Aussie will be the major sponsor of reality TV show House Hunters, which is coming to Australia later this year.

First started in 1999 as an American TV show, House Hunters is now a “global juggernaut” with around 250 seasons globally, 16 spin-offs, and 1,900 episodes.

The reality TV show follows real home everyday families on their home buying journeys as they’re assisted by real estate agents in finding their dream home.

The show, which will premiere on Channel 10 and 10play later this year, will be sponsored by Aussie and will integrate Aussie services into the show.

This includes real-life Aussie brokers walking through loan options with clients and Aussie Buyer’s Agents finding them properties alongside partner real estate agents (Aussie for Agents).

According to Lendi Group CEO David Hyman, the sponsorship aims to help embed the new vision of Aussie as a property ecosystem (using its new Find, Buy, Own tagline) and create an emotional connection to the revamped brand.

Speaking to The Adviser, he said: Aussie, 33 years ago, basically set out to disrupt the [mortgage] industry, and in doing so, has created this amazing brand after many, many years of hard work.

“Aussie has great brand awareness at over 60 per cent and with consideration [of borrowers using an Aussie broker] getting close to 30 per cent we’re really happy with how that’s going… But if you walk down the street and ask people what Aussie does, most people think of Aussie as a mortgage broker.

“So the job we’ve got to do is we’ve got to help people understand that the shift is now digital, there’s a great digital experience around that, and now, as we move towards ‘Find, Buy, Own’, it’s much more than mortgage broking; it’s really about that whole property journey.

“So this is just one of many strategies that we’ll be deploying to try and help consumers shift in their mind what Aussie means to them.”

Hyman said while he hadn’t yet seen the final edits of the show, the initial cuts showed that brokers and buyer’s agents have “deep integration” in the program.

House Hunters Australia does not yet have a confirmed release date.
