Just 11 per cent of Australians would be willing to give up the weekly cost of cigarettes in order to fund a life insurance policy that would protect their families in the event of their death.

According to new research conducted by LifeInsuranceFinder.com.au, only 15.7 per cent of Aussies would be willing to sacrifice the weekly indulgence of coffee, while a mere 18.3 per cent of those surveyed would consider giving up takeout food in order to insure their lives and therefore their loved ones’ future.
“Clearly, Australians don’t want to sacrifice the costs of their lifestyle habits to fund a life insurance policy that will secure their families' financial future,” LifeInsuranceFinder.com.au publisher Fred Schebesta said.
“However, failing to take out life insurance can leave families at risk of severe financial stress should an unexpected tragedy occur. For many, an unimaginable amount is at stake. This can range from being unable to cover living expenses to educating their children to maintaining a roof over their loved ones' heads.
“What many don’t realise though is that life insurance is quite affordable and by making even minor lifestyle changes they can greatly reduce the cost of their cover.”
