FAST held a Women in Finance high tea to allow its female brokers to come together, share stories and hear from others who are highly successful in their field.
Speaking to The Adviser, FAST’s chief executive Brendan Wright said the aggregator was keen to take a leadership position around small- to medium-sized enterprises and especially around the role women can play in this area.
“I know from my time in the finance industry just how important diversity, including gender diversity, is to a business,” he said.
“I can proudly say that 50 per cent of our salaried workforce at FAST are women. That is no fluke; it is intentional as we understand how important they are to the success of any business. We want to attract more females into the industry and we want to raise awareness that we have very successful women working within the FAST network.”
FAST’s event comes less than a month after the aggregator unveiled its new brand and business strategy at the MFAA conference.
Mr Wright said the aggregator had rebranded to highlight just how far it had come since its inception and to give brokers an idea of what FAST can offer to them and their business.
“We went with the logo ‘stay ahead’ because that is what we believe we can help brokers do,” he said.
