A majority of Australians are taking to eating lunch at their desk or skipping their midday meal entirely.
According to new research conducted by ING DIRECT, 28 per cent of Australians have admitted to eating their lunch at their desk every day, while 33 per cent said they are skipping their lunch entirely.
The research also found that the typical lunch break is now between 15 and 30 minutes, and 37 per cent of Australians spend that time catching up on phone calls.

A further 31 per cent use the time to complete personal administrative tasks, 30 per cent go shopping and 24 per cent catch up on social media.
To help Aussies reclaim their lunch break, ING DIRECT has today launched a campaign that will see UK magician Dynamo visit Australia for the very first time and will involve a range of free lunchtime events.
The ‘Spend Your Lunch Well’ events will offer a completely unique lunchtime experience, like a sushi rolling class, rock climbing, writing music with Josh Pyke or interactive art with renowned street artist, INDO.
“We are all about saving our customers time on banking, so instead, we’d rather see our customers spend their time doing fun, memorable and interesting things. So, let’s start with lunch,” ING DIRECT’s executive director, customer, John Arnott said.
