NSW Premier Nathan Rees said the state government would extend a $3,000 supplement for first home buyers who purchase newly built homes.

“We are committed to the first home buyer grants because they also provide a direct economic stimulus and support jobs in the building industry,” he said.
The extension, which will end in June next year, coincided with figures revealing a record number of first home buyers made claims for first home buyer incentives in April.
More than 7,000 first home buyers received $102 million in grants during the month, Mr Rees said.
