Increased FHOG keeps Australians in jobs

More than 97,000 first home buyer grants have been issued since the federal government increased the grant last October, ABS Housing Finance statistics have revealed.

The boost has kept the building industry and real estate agencies afloat during the global downturn, according to the Housing Industry Association, and secured the jobs of about 9 per cent of the Australian workforce.
