US mortgage applications down, again

The Mortgage Bankers Association ‘s (MBA) mortgage applications survey for the week ending December 21 measured a 7.6 per cent seasonally adjusted drop in loan application volume.

The survey, released yesterday, showed the market composite index – which is a measure of loan application volume – was 603.8, down from 653.8 one week earlier.

On an unadjusted basis, the index decreased 8.2 per cent compared to the previous week but was up 9.9 per cent compared with the same week one year earlier.
