“I am actually moving on from the home loan space after five years in this industry, so this is a great note to finish on,” he said.
“This has been the greatest five years of my working life.
Mr Sheffield will take up a new role with the bank driving productivity in the retail space.
“I will be working with Ross [McEwan] and his team on streamlining processes for customers. We hope to take out steps that don’t add value to the customers banking experience. Ultimately, my new job will be all about creating faster processes within the bank.”
Over the last five years Mr Sheffield has been a solid supporter of the CBA’s third party distribution business working closely with CBA’s executive general manager third party and mobile banking Kathy Cummings to improve its broker offering.
When CBA was announced Lender of The year for 2012 Mr Sheffield and Ms Cummings took the podium side by side to accept the coveted award, underpinning the weight the bank places on its third party operations.
“I’ve really enjoyed working in the mortgage space,” he said.
“I didn’t want to leave, but when Ross taps you on the shoulder, you don’t say no.”
