South Australian treasurer Kevin Foley said more than 90 per cent of first home buyers would benefit from the $4,000 grant, which will be available on property purchases of up to $400,000.

The previous cap to receive a stamp duty concession was for properties up to $250,000.

The new first home buyer stamp duty concession will take effect in respect of first home purchase contracts entered into as of yesterday.
