Mr Camphin, who is chief executive of Ray White Queensland, will start his new role in August, but will also continue as a Ray White director.
Loan Market chairman Sam White said Mr Camphin’s appointment would be a “turning point” for the brokerage, which is looking to forge closer links with its sister company.
“Nobody knows the Ray White network like he does. More than that, he has unique experience in this state as a leader of a service-based franchisor,” he said.
“Peter has a clear mandate to make the changes required for us to be a better franchisor and to create new opportunities for all of our franchisees.”
Loan Market transitioned to a franchise model on July 1, when its brokers moved from being independent contractors to franchisees.
Meanwhile, Loan Market has won the Commonwealth Bank Strategic Business Partner of the Year award after achieving the bank’s highest conversion rate.
