N1 Finance managing director Ren Wong said DIY rental apps, such as Snailapp, are high in demand.
“We know many landlords are happy with their existing property agents,” Mr Wong said.
“This app targets those landlords looking for a quick, free and simple alternative to existing channels to source tenants.
“The unique selling point for the app is it facilities communication easily between landlord and tenant as Snailapp is likely to be used by the landlord, not the agent.”
Mr Wong, who was ranked number 26 in The Adviser’s 2015 Elite Broker’s list, said the app was designed to be simple and make steps as minimal as possible.
“This is why Snailapp has been built from the ground up from a user experience perspective and we expect most listings to be uploaded within 90 seconds provided a description has already been written,” he said.
Looking ahead, Mr Wong expects the app to have matched hundreds of tenant and landlords in the first 12 months.
“There has already been some positive feedback from current users,” he said.
“Once the platform hits scale, we believe there is a great opportunity to take on the established platforms, and this is part of our value-adding service to our existing investor clientele.”
Snailapp is available now on iOS and Android devices.
