A director of Heritage Bank has resigned from the board after nearly 14 years of service.

Susan Campbell, a Melbourne-based director of Heritage Bank, has now stepped down from the role that she has held since 2005 after having attended her final board meeting in Brisbane last week.

Ms Campbell was the inaugural chairman of the board’s risk management committee, as well as a member of the finance committee.

She was also the first interstate director to be appointed to the board.

Heritage Bank CEO Peter Lock said that Ms Campbell’s “outstanding expertise” in finance and risk areas has been “of enormous benefit to Heritage”.

“She brought wide-ranging finance skills and professionalism to the board and has been a significant contributor to our success over the last 15 years,” Mr Lock said.

“We thank her for her commitment and guidance and wish her well in future endeavours,” he concluded.

Heritage reportedly does not intend to appoint a new director in light of Ms Campbell’s resignation, having recently added former NSW government minister Wendy Machin to the board in March this year.

The appointment of the former NSW government minister in March was made ahead of the announcement that Heritage would be opening its first interstate bank branches in Sydney later this year.
