Loan Market welcomes new state director for Victoria/Tasmania

The aggregator has welcomed a new state director for Victoria/Tasmania, in the form of former Prospa BDM Leigh Tsoumerkas.

Loan Market has appointed Leigh Tsoumerkas to drive its growing network across Victoria and Tasmania.

Mr Tsoumerkas was most recently the senior business development manager for Victoria/Tasmania at SME lender Prospa, where he had worked for the past four years building the lender’s broker channel in the two states.

Prior to joining Prospa, Loan Market’s new state director for Victoria/Tasmania had worked for seven years as the sales manager for the southern states for vendor finance and payments group Flexigroup (now Humm).

Welcoming the new hire, Andrea McNaughton, the managing director of Loan Market, commented: “Leigh takes genuine interest in the objectives of brokers – both in the growth of their business and their service standards to clients.

“Across Victoria and Tasmania our business owners, brokers and support teams have shown incredible resilience during the disruptions of the last two years, sustaining unprecedented volumes of enquiry and enhancing their customer experience at the same [time].

“Leigh’s enthusiasm in partnering businesses to achieve their ambitions will be well received by business owners, their brokers and support staff.”

Mr Tsoumerkas said he was excited to join Loan Market and would be bringing with him a commitment to education and activity to help grow the broker network.

“Every time I’ve walked into a Loan Market business, the values have always been consistent. They have a strong focus on family, both within their offices and their wider networks. Family is everything for me,” Mr Tsoumerkas said.

“There’s so much more pressure on brokers to deliver the right solutions promptly and with expert guidance. Loan Market is setting the benchmark in response to these challenges with greater tech, productivity training and compliance solutions.”

Mr Tsoumerkas also coaches a soccer team and played for Heidelberg United in the former national league.

He commented: “In sport, you’re working together to achieve a shared goal. Camaraderie and two-way partnerships are always behind the biggest success stories in sport and business is the same.

“I set high expectations of myself to deliver outstanding service to my brokers.”

The announcement comes just days after the group revealed that it had hired another former Prospa employee, former regional manager Erin Manhood, as its state director overseeing PLAN Australia, Choice Aggregation Service (Choice) and FAST (PCF) in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
