FAST has recognised its leading commercial brokers at its annual Commercial and Asset Finance Conference in Victoria’s Yarra Valley.

The conference, held late September, drew together FAST’s top commercial writers and senior lender representatives from ANZ, Bankwest, CBA, ING DIRECT, Macquarie Leasing and Westpac to share best practice commercial broking strategies, workshop opportunities for business growth and award top performing brokers.

Michael Coombes of WA-based Southshore Finance, was one of the big winners at the conference, taking home the award for National Commercial Group Broker Operator, while Paul Rowe of Razor Commercial Finance received the award for National Commercial Sole Operator.

Daniel O’Neile of Navfin in Sydney received the award for National Asset Finance (Group) and David Brooke of Brookelend took out the award for National Asset Finance (Sole Operator).

Greg Wells of Wells Partners, who received the FAST award for Commercial Broker Group of the Year New South Wales, said there was an underlying sense of optimism at the conference regarding the future for commercial and asset finance.

“The feel of the conference was very upbeat. Each lender’s session had a ‘spring in its step’ and there was a real enthusiasm for opportunities in the market,” he said.

“All of the lender panel participants were clearly open for business and hungry for market share. I came away feeling extremely positive.”

FAST national sales manager David O’Toole supported Mr Wells comments and said the conference, along with the Gala awards dinner, reinforced the aggregator’s commitment to the commercial and asset finance sector plus its market leading position as an aggregation group geared for supporting brokers that focus on commercial finance.

“Our brokers are industry leaders across commercial and asset finance and they choose FAST because we understand their business needs and appreciate their growth opportunities.

“They are established and successful operators who require tailored support – not a one size fits all cookie cutter approach. Our annual Commercial and Asset Finance Conference offers these groups the chance to engage with other top operators, build their knowledge base and work on their business,” he said.
