A fraudulent mortgage broker has driven his car off a cliff on the day he was due to be sentenced to jail.
James W. Lull, a former mortgage broker in Hawaii, was pulled from a ravine last week after he failed to turn up to a federal court sentencing, the Honolulu Advertiser reported.

Mr Lull declared bankruptcy in 2006 after which he was soon indicted on charges of operating a ‘Ponzi’ scheme that had deceived a raft of investors, the daily said.
He pled guilty in September last year to defrauding more than 50 people out of $30 million and was also under investigation for possible new crimes.
Mr Lull’s failure to show in court had prompted a manhunt by US marshals and the FBI only to find the man was not on the run but had driven his car off a 200 foot drop.
