Suncorp’s top writing broker partners were last week invited to attend a unique day at the famous MCG.
On Friday, a number of the bank’s top performing brokers were given the opportunity to meet, mix and hear from some of the nation’s most recognisable sporting personalities, including cricket legend and Suncorp Ambassador Adam Gilchrist on what it takes to be an elite sports person.
In addition, brokers were given the privilege of attending the Collingwood President’s Club dinner hosted by Eddie McGuire in the president’s room at the MCG.
Attendee and managing director of Time Home Loans Ruan Burger said he took plenty away from the event, with the inspiring stories from the sporting greats prompting him to re-evaluate his business mentality.
“The event taught me how important it is to have commitment, dedication, consistency and persistence. Not all days will be good days and, as Jason Akermanis said, ‘sometimes it is painful to be successful’.
“While he was talking about scoring a try with a torn groin muscle, the sentiment can be injected into everyday business,” he said.
