Queensland’s top auctioneer has given mortgage brokers a nod for his success.

He said his clearance rates were due partly to mortgage brokers organising finance for bidders at auction.
“Their ability to be able to get people into a position to bid unconditionally is a very big thing,” Mr Andrew told The Adviser.
“The mortgage brokers who are able to do that, more real estate agents will refer them work because they want to work with mortgage brokers who will get guys into position who will put their hand up on auction day.”
Mr Andrew said his firm has been attracting 4.5 registered bidders per auction in Brisbane in 2014 compared with 1.6 in 2013.
Brokers had helped drive that growth in registrations, which in turn had led to an increase in clearance rates.
“Lots of people are now working with their mortgage brokers to be in that position to purchase unconditionally,” he said.
