BrokerIQ is a timed game show-style competition that is held over three rounds, with a $5,000 prize on offer for the winner. More than 700 brokers took part last year.
Round one consists of 20 multiple choice questions on products, finance, compliance and a splash of general knowledge. Entrants will be judged on both accuracy and speed.
The brokers with the best results will then progress to the second round, before the field is again narrowed down to six.
The finalists will then go head-to-head for the title of Australia’s brightest broker in front of more than 450 industry guests at the Australian Broking Awards luncheon on August 15.
St George’s general manager of mortgage broking, Clive Kirkpatrick, said BrokerIQ was one of the industry’s most anticipated events.
“It’s not only great fun, it creates a real talking point because everybody wants to know who Australia’s brightest broker is,” he told The Adviser.
“There’s no doubt that brokers across the board are knowledgeable. Professional standards are continually increasing, and the public has responded by turning to brokers in increasing numbers.”
