Over 100 businesses so far have taken up the offer of free MFAA marketing support.

The association announced a month ago that it would provide free marketing advice including content to assist with websites, newsletters and social media.

According to the MFAA, the most popular request for help has been related to websites and social media.

Chief executive Phil Naylor said that membership numbers had increased over the last 12 months thanks to its focus on marketing development in the industry.

“Creating a higher standard for marketing raises the status of the industry as a whole, particularly as many credit advisers are not necessarily marketing experts,” he said.

The MFAA’s head of marketing, Stephen Hale, said that brokers would be able to benefit from support in key areas including commercial referral networks, Chinese social media for investor leads and basic website marketing.

“We have five new online consumer campaigns that will run over the next 12 months, combined with new lead email services for the residential market and a press campaign that directs referrers to an MFAA-approved credit adviser,” he said.
