That is expected to grow to nine through the addition of more BDMs in the Sunshine Coast and North Queensland.
Mr Hatten told The Adviser that his new role was to build and lead a specialist national business development team to better support brokers and real estate agents.
He has relocated from the Gold Coast where he served as a business relationship licensee.
“A large part of [that] role was developing and fostering relationships with stakeholders with conveyancing process such as brokers and real estate agents,” he said.
“The crux of the role was to ensure a smooth transaction and to keep the lines of communication between the relevant parties.
“The concept was so successful that we rolled it out throughout Queensland followed by Sydney, Victoria and Perth.”
Mr Hatten said Slater & Gordon’s Conveyancing Works planned to improve its service by “making a big push on providing real-time communication” with brokers.
“We’re looking to tap into the Chinese market by expanding our Chinese-speaking legal team and adapting to how you need to interact with the Chinese market,” he added.
Slater & Gordon has more than 70 offices across Australia.
