Mortgage brokers could be in for multiple wins at the 2016 Better Business Awards if the outcome of this year’s event is anything to go by.

As the industry rushes to get submissions in by 13 November for the 2016 Better Business Awards, we reflect on some of this year’s multiple award winners.

In Victoria, the most coveted title of Broker of the Year was once again given to Mark Davis of The Australian Lending & Investment Centre. The Melbourne loan writer was also named Residential Broker of the Year at the Australian Broking Awards in 2014.

In South Australia, Tom Caesarowicz of Positive Lending Solutions was named Broker of the Year, the top gong among the awards. The Adelaide loan writer was also named Best Finance Broker.

In NSW this year, Eric Cui of Alliance Mortgage Solutions took out top honours, winning the Residential Broker of the Year and overall Broker of the Year categories.

Now in its third consecutive year, the Better Business Awards form part of the award-winning Better Business Summit, crowned Event of the Year at both the 2015 and 2014 Publish Awards (previously the Publishers Australia Excellence Awards). The event will also go head to head with the TV Week Logie Awards at the prestigious Australian Magazine Awards next week.

Competition for the 2016 awards looks to be heating up as we continue to collect hundreds of submissions from brokers, aggregators and lenders across Australia.

As in previous years, the judging process includes an online submission that covers key business indicators and asks a series of open-ended questions across a range of business topics.

Finalists will then be selected, with the winners to be announced at the state awards dinners in Brisbane on 18 February, Melbourne on 25 February, Sydney on 3 March, Adelaide on 11 March and Perth on 17 March.
