Bouris to share branding secrets with brokers

Industry pioneer Mark Bouris will this week explain to brokers how they can build their own personal brand to accelerate business growth.

The Yellow Brick Road founder will speak to mortgage professionals in Brisbane on Thursday as part of an exciting agenda at The Adviser’s 2016 Better Business Summit.

Mr Bouris’s session will identify how brokers can create a message that resonates with customers and practical and proven strategies to improve brand awareness.

“There will always be people who will want to borrow,” Mr Bouris told The Adviser.

“Some brokers will be able to take advantage of the confusion in the marketplace. But to do that they need to run a campaign to tell people that’s what they are doing.

“Social media can help. I’d be running a social media campaign with endorsements from other clients that you have helped at this confusing time.”

Mr Bouris said brokers need to identify what message they want to communicate; to do that they need to have a solid understanding of their local market.

“What are the messages that new customers within your segment, within your demographic and within your geographic are looking for? You have to identify that,” he said.

"You need to find out from not only your current customers but also your future customers.

“Start to put that message out into the market place and then go and hunt down those clients. Deliver on that message and get a client to endorse that, then get that message out there.”

Brokers can catch Mr Bouris on stage at the The Adviser’s Better Business Summit, which kicks off in Brisbane this week.

In conjunction with The Adviser’s Better Business Awards, the award-winning event will be held in Brisbane on 18 February, Melbourne on 25 February, Sydney on 3 March, Adelaide on 11 March and Perth on 17 March.
