Held in the Gold Coast on 25 November in conjunction with the FBAA gala dinner, the awards will feature 15 categories.
They will include awards that recognise individual brokers from every state that settle a “quality number of transactions”, large groups (corporate members of the FBBA) who settle “quality large $ volume of transactions in various categories”, new brokers that have been in the industry less than two years (based on success by volume or number of transactions), motor finance brokers, commercial property brokers, asset and equipment finance brokers, and business development managers who are “excelling at supporting finance brokers”.
Brokers are now being encouraged to nominate those they think should win, with submissions open until 7 October.
Conference details
The winners will be announced at the 2016 conference, which will showcase the latest in regulation updates and product development, and feature keynote guest speakers who are experts in small business management and the financial services sector.
This year’s special guest speaker will be noted industry figurehead Mark Bouris, while the conference will also hear from marketing specialist Adam Franklin and human resources expert Natasha Hawker.
Body language guru Allan Pease is also a part of the speaker roster, along with detective senior constable Graeme Edwards from the Queensland Police Force’s fraud and cyber group, who will offer updates on the latest security issues relevant to the financial sector.
The FBAA’s Peter White said that while the conference is free for FBAA members, it is open to everyone across the industry.
He said: “The conference is ideal for brokers to gather, network, exchange ideas, and listen to some of the sharpest minds in not only the broking game but also small business who have a wealth of knowledge and advice.”
