Thirty-six brokers across five states, including the Elite Business Writer of the year and Young Broker of the Year 2016, will be vying for state recognition as the Best Residential Broker at the Better Business Awards 2017.
The finalists for state-based Better Business Awards 2017 - partnered by NAB - were revealed today, and include Elite Business Writer 2016 Justin Doobov and Queensland-based broker George Samios (crowned Young Broker of the Year last month), who are up for the awards of Best Residential Broker NSW and Qld respectively.

The stellar line-up of finalists includes mortgage heavyweights Ross Le Quesne (Aussie, NSW), Josh Bartlett (Loan Market, Vic), and 2016 Best Residential Broker winner for Vic, Mark Davis (ALIC, Vic).
Last year’s winner of both the WA Broker of the Year and WA Best Regional Broker, Steve Milligan (Launch Finance), is in the running for the state’s 2017 regional broker award, as is former regional broker winner of Vic, Anthony Clough (Aussie Horsham).
Commercial brokers will also be vying for the top award in their respective states next year, with finalists for Best Commercial Broker including: Ian Robinson (Robinson Sewell Partners) and George Karam (bf Money) for NSW; Jason Arnold (Quattro Commercial Property Finance) and Frank Durso (AUS Finance Group) for Vic; and Daniel Holden (HoldenCAPITAL) and Glen Barnes (Barnes Finance Solutions) for Qld.
WA’s Simon Chesson (AustAsia Finance Brokers) is in the running for Best Finance Broker yet again this year, after having taken home the title at last year’s WA Better Business Awards.
New industry professionals will also be honoured at the Better Business Awards 2017, with 27 new faces up for the title of Best Newcomer and 33 finalists competing for the state prize of Rising Star.
Finalists in the Rising Star award for 2017 include Loan Market’s Nelson Bedoya (NSW), Peasy’s Joel Wyld (NSW), and National Finance Brokers Day’s Dino Pacella (WA).
As well as recognising the achievements of brokers, the Better Business Awards also honour the hard work of aggregator BDMs, lender BDMs, loan administrators, and those running community engagement programmes, among others.
