Henry Cusack, a mortgage broker and finance consultant at Bespoke Finance Group, was remembered at a memorial service on 27 July, following his sudden death earlier this month.

Mr Cusack tragically died on 15 July, after falling from a balcony at the Sail and Anchor Hotel in Fremantle, WA.

The 28-year-old mortgage broker from Claremont was remembered on Thursday at a memorial service at the Collegians Amateur Football Club in Dalkeith — where Mr Cusack used to play football — which was attended by more than 600 people.

Carl Maiorana, the founder and director of Bespoke Finance Group and close friend of Mr Cusack, told The Adviser that the young broker was “very gregarious” and well loved by colleagues and clients alike.

Adding that "so many people" lined up behind the hearse after the service, Mr Maiorana said it showed “how many people really loved him and the impact he had on our lives”.

“He was the type of guy that if you met him once, and just spent fifteen minutes with him, he'd make a lasting impression,” Mr Maiorana said.

Describing Mr Cusack as a “charmer”, Mr Maiorana added that he had a “positive impact on people wherever he went”, remembering that a local café once named their famous breakfast bagel after him.

He also noted that Mr Cusack was a “party boy” who would have “a cheeky twinkle in his eye thinking about a weekend of opportunity ahead”.

Remembering him as a colleague and friend, Mr Maiorana told The Adviser that the young broker had started in the industry in 2010 and joined Bespoke Finance Group in 2013.

He said he had started to grow professionally, and was just about to take on his own personal assistant.

“His clients really did love him and we have had a lot of condolences and flowers and a lot of his clients have reached out to us," he said. "A lot of those clients became his friends as well. They are really distraught.”

He noted that many of the referral partners, real estate agents and business development managers (BDMs) that Mr Cusack had worked with attended the funeral this week and sent flowers and condolences.

“He was an efficient, charismatic and hardworking man really starting to forge a successful career.

“The charmer, the party boy, our talented colleague with so much potential. This is how we remember him. He will always be a part of our Bespoke Family,” Mr Maoirana concluded.

Members of the industry will be attending a charity football match between banks and brokers on 28 July, which will also, coincidentally, be held at the same oval as the past day's service.

Bespoke Finance Group brokers will be wearing black arm bands, and before the game, there will be a minute's silence in honour of Mr Cusack.
