Women are increasing their presence in the mortgage industry, according to Loan Market Group.

According to the brokerage, more than 58 per cent of the company’s management team are women.

“At Loan Market we encourage all staff to take advantage of the career paths available and we have found that women have been highly successful in moving through the ranks,” Loan Market Group’s chief operating officer Dean Rushton said.

“The development of all these talented managers highlights our strong focus on investing time and resources into our people and ultimately the possibilities of advancement for all staff at Loan Market.”

Mr Rushton said two of Loan Market’s state sales managers had risen to key senior management roles after starting their careers in junior positions.

Melissah Douglas advanced from the IT support desk to become State Sales Manager for NSW/ACT while the Victorian State Sales Manager Beth Poyser had started off as an administrative assistant.

“Melissah and Beth are great examples of what can be achieved at Loan Market,” Mr Rushton said.
