Several leading mortgage brokers and professionals in the mortgage and finance industry have been announced as finalists in the Women in Finance Awards 2018.
The Women in Finance Awards, presented by Momentum Media together with principal partner NAB, aims to highlight the outstanding work of women within financial services and put them on a national stage to support the continuing growth and development of women in the financial arena.

The finalists for all 27 awards, which recognise individual and group performance, have now been released.
Several leading mortgage brokers and members of the industry have made the final cut for multiple awards, including Marissa Schulze from Rise High Financial Solutions (Mentor of the Year and Principal of the Year) and Louisa Sanghera from Zippy Financial Group (Mortgage and Finance Broker of the Year and Principal of the Year).
Likewise, top asset finance brokerage Astute Ability Group has been shortlisted for two awards: Employer of the Year (SME) and Women’s Community Program of the Year.
The Community Program of the Year category received strong representation from the broking industry, with Zippy Financial Group and Pink Finance also in the running for the award.
The finalists for the Mortgage and Finance Broker of the Year category are:
- Cathy Brown, Activ8 Finance
- Deb Smith, Smartline
- Deslie Taylor, Mortgage Choice Ormeau
- Hannah Nguyen, Loan Market St Albans
- Kate Allison, The Australian Lending & Investment Centre
- Kelly Cameron, Get Real Finance
- Louisa Sanghera, Zippy Financial Group
- Melissa Mascioli, Your Mortgage Provider
- Serena Huynh, Action Home Loans
- Zoiro (Zoi) Mina, Australian Mortgage Options
Representatives from the broker associations have also been recognised.
Kathryn Bordonaro from the Commercial & Asset Finance Brokers Association of Australia (CAFBA) and Leah Renwick from the Finance Brokers Association of Australia Limited (FBAA) both made it to the final cut for Association Professional of the Year once again this year, while Sabrina Cortez from the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) was named as a finalist in the Marketing Professional of the Year award.
Anja Pannek, CEO of PLAN Australia; Tanya Sale, CEO of Outsource Financial; and Marie Mortimer of loans.com.au all made it as finalists in the Chief Executive Officer of the Year category.
Several business development managers from the mortgage and finance industries have also been named as finalists, including those from Choice Aggregation Services, Finsure, Bluestone Mortgages and Pepper Money, as well as from Commonwealth Bank, Bank of Queensland, St. George Bank and Macquarie.
Winners of the second annual Women in Finance Awards will be announced at a black-tie event at The Star Event Centre in Sydney on 20 September 2018.
