The pair have pledged to provide 30 nights of shelter to a homeless family for every home loan they write, in an effort to “pay it forward” and provide assistance to those less fortunate overseas.
Additionally, Mr and Mrs Christie-David have set themselves a “bold” goal of writing enough loans to be able to provide 10,000 nights of shelter to those in need, requiring over 300 loans to be written.
The husband and wife broking team announced their plan via a video posted online, which explained why they wanted to begin the ‘home loans for the homeless’ initiative.
“We’re so lucky to never have to worry about putting a roof over our head … and we want more families to enjoy the same security that we may take for granted,” Mr Christie-David said upon the launch of the initiative.
Ms Christie-David added: “116,00 Aussies are deemed homeless, and this number is growing; on a global scale, 100 million people don’t have homes.
“We want to help make a dent in this number.”
The duo concluded: “As we help more Australians purchase their own home or investment properties, we’re going to help put a roof over someone’s head who really needs it.
“We can’t wait to share our journey to make an impact with you.”
