Suncorp launches FBAA broker wellbeing program

The non-major has launched a wellbeing assistance program for FBAA members and their immediate families.

Suncorp has rolled out a confidential health and wellbeing assistance program for all members of the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA) to provide them access to confidential counselling, wellbeing coaching and holistic support services.

The program, which will be provided by mental health organisation Assure Programs, will offer brokers access to four counselling sessions with a registered psychologist, four wellbeing coaching sessions, and a legal and financial coaching session each year.

The service is free and accessible via face-to-face meeting, telephone, Skype or eCounselling services.

Commenting on the initiative, Suncorp executive general manager, customer lending, Brush Rush said the program formed a part of the bank’s “commitment to supporting the wellbeing of brokers”.

“We understand these are challenging times for many Australians, including our broker network, and consider the wellbeing of our employees, brokers, customers and community members the absolute priority,” Mr Rush said.

“Programs such as these provide a listening ear and critical advice to assist with issues such as stress, conflict, relationship problems and mental health issues, including depression or anxiety.”

Mr Rush said that while the program will be available to FBAA members initially, it would be extended to all brokers in the next 12 months.

“The program is designed to help our brokers based on their own unique circumstances, including access to an extensive range of services 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” Mr Rush said.

FBAA managing director Peter White congratulated Suncorp for supporting the broker channel and recognising the importance of mental health.

“The FBAA has been focusing on wellbeing for many years, and we see this as an extension of our whole-of-industry approach. It’s exciting to have Suncorp on board,” Mr White said.

FBAA members and their families can call Assure to book an appointment or request an appointment online, Suncorp said.
