Finalists revealed for 10th annual Better Business Awards

A total of 626 finalists are set to compete for a coveted award at the state-based Better Business Awards in 2023.

The Adviser is pleased to reveal the finalists for the Better Business Awards 2023, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2023.

Run with the support of principal partner NAB, the benchmark awards program recognises excellence in the broking industry and rewards the best and brightest brokers and offices across Australia for their hard work and writing large loan volumes.

Since 2014, the Better Business Awards program has celebrated the achievements and successes of mortgage and finance brokers, aggregators, lenders, business development managers (BDM), mentors, thought leaders, offices, and the industry’s rising stars of tomorrow.

They recognise those who have built a local presence and provided stellar customer service in their immediate catchment area, all while dedicating themselves to serving their clients’ best interests.

The 10th year of the program is no exception, with a total of 626 finalists chosen out of more than 1,000 submissions across 20 individual and group categories in NSW/ACT, Queensland, South Australia/Northern Territory, Victoria/Tasmania, and Western Australia.

One individual winner will also walk away with the prestigious Broker of the Year Award, awarded to the highest-ranking individual broker winner in each state.

Momentum Media’s managing editor of mortgages, Annie Kane, commented that with the latest data showing that the third-party channel has broken 70 per cent market share for the first time in history, it is more important than ever to recognise the achievements of the broking industry.

“As more and more borrowers chose to use a broker for their mortgage and finance needs, the standard of service and skill delivered by those in this industry has continued to rise, Ms Kane said.

“The awards celebrate the ongoing excellence in the industry, and this year truly showcase the hard work put in by brokers.

“The past year has been an incredibly busy one for mortgage and finance brokers, as they worked around the clock to help support their clients. Whether it was reaching out to clients to let them know what support was available to them, refinancing them into a better deal, or enabling them to enter the property market for the first time, brokers have been intrinsic to ensuring that Australian borrowers are able to access the finance they needed, when they need it most.

“The sheer amount of work and effort put into supporting brokers — from the aggregators, BDMs, loan administrators and networks — is also commendable, and we are thrilled to be able to recognise the efforts of this industry at our 10th annual awards in 2023.

“Congratulations to all of the finalists.”

The 10th annual Better Business Summit 2023

The Better Business Awards will be held after the award-winning, must-attend Better Business Summit 2023.

Now in its 10th year, the summit will focus on four primary pillars of content to help brokers re-engineer their businesses, including operations, technology, lead generation, and sales.

Speakers will appear in five states to arm brokers with the skills to increase profitability in their brokerages by writing larger loan volumes, building and retaining a larger loan book, attracting high-net-worth clients, mastering digital marketing to generate more leads, and running an efficient business by using technology.

Keynote speakers include Broker Essentials director, Jason Back; former broker and Trusted Finance director and founder, Rob “Robbo” Roper; targeted lead generator and connector coach at Get the Lead, Marg Lange; Sales Redefined founder and chief executive, Abbie White; and international profile and communications specialist at Human Pattern Recognition, Alan Stevens.

The Adviser will reveal the full speaker lineup in the coming weeks.
