Wishing you a pawfect holiday!

by Annie Kane9 minute read

As it’s nearly Christmas, we thought we’d share some festive cheer by taking a look at some of the pets of the broking industry ...

Luca and Bossie

Names: Luca (golden retriever) and Bossie

Owner: Anja Pannek, CEO, MFAA

About them: Luca, my golden retriever puppy, is very good at stealing socks and obsessed with the beach and tennis balls while Bossie, my wonderful 14-year-old dog still thinks he’s a puppy too!

Harvey

Name: Harvey

Owner: Matt Turner, broker principal, GSC Finance Solutions

About them: Harvey is a 10-year-old Cavoodle, eagerly awaiting the arrival of a brother (a Cocker Spaniel puppy, due in February). He has, on occasion, invited himself onto Zoom calls with clients during lockdowns, particularly during storms. Having a dog when working from home meant I rarely felt lonely and kept me occupied with daily walks to the café.

Tyson

Name: Tyson

Owner: Katrina Rowlands, broker principal, Mortgage Success

About them: Tyson was born on 15 November 2022, and he is the newest addition to our family of 14 donkeys, ranging from standard size to mini to micro (to be a micro donkey they need to measure below 30 inches at adulthood). He is a micro Red Jack who didn’t have the easiest start to life but is now a champion. Thus the fighting name — although he would be featherweight in the donkey world!

My donks do so much for my personal stress management and meditation time in the paddocks and just sheer happiness through their loving interactions, cheeky personality and incredibly intelligent ways. They also are a joy to my Northern Rivers clients who usually get to meet them also. And they feature heavily in my charity work, specifically the Festival of FUN, a day towards full inclusion and accessibility to all. In fact, my stud sire, a USA Imperial Spotted Extreme Woolley Micro Jack named Uno is the mascot of the Gold Coast event. Love them!

Billie

Name: Billie
Owner: Mark Haron, executive director, Connective and Fiona Haron, state director NSW/ACT, Connective

About them: Billie is a six-year-old Boston Terrier whose favourite things are chicken wings, walking off leash and sleeping all day. Billie also enjoys waking Fi up at 6am for breakfast!

Charlotte and Stella

Name: Charlotte (pied colour) and Stella (tan blue colour)

Owner: Sofie Chapman, Buyers Choice Mortgage & Finance

About them: Charlotte and Stella are two rescue French Bulldogs. Charlotte is eight years old, and food is her mantra. But treats are her love language. Stella is two years old and has to be as close to me as possible 24/7. She even sleeps on my chest. Together they both love being beach babes, rolling in the sand and surf. They have met some of my clients when I’m out and about and they are a great lead generator — I met two of my clients at the local dog park!

Penni and Willo

Names: Penni and Willo
Name: Greg Hearn, broker principal, Greg Hearn Financial Solutions
About them: The little one, Penni, is a rough coat Jack Russell. The big one, Willo, is a very soft Border Collie. Penni rules the office. When you work alone, it’s sometimes just good to have someone to hug at times!

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday!
