After 20 years in business, Penrith broker Peita Davies is keen to give back to the community by raising $20,000 for 20 charities in 20 months.
Reaching 20 years in business as a broker is no easy feat and for MoneyQuest Penrith & Blue Mountains owner Peita Davies, who joined the industry with limited finance experience and financial support, it was the community that saw her succeed.

“The success I have achieved over my 20-year career is in large part due to the support I’ve received from others, which is why I’m eager to give back — to the local community and to a selection of deserving causes that are close to my heart,” Ms. Davies shared.
To celebrate her 20th year as a finance specialist, Ms Davies is pledging to donate $20,000 to 20 different charities over 20 months.
The initiative is her way of giving back and thanking those who have supported her business over the past two decades.
Each month will be dedicated to a different charity of Ms. Davies’ choosing, which will be promoted via MoneyQuest Penrith & Blue Mountains’ social media channels.
“If we’re unable to raise $1,000 as a community, I will cover the shortfall to ensure the $1k target is reached each month,” Ms. Davies added.
The charitable initiative kicked off on 15 December at Theo’s Rooftop Bar in Penrith, with a cheque written and presented to Penrith Community Kitchen for their Christmas lunch for the less fortunate.
Hosted by Ms. Davies and her team, the event was attended by clients, local business owners, community members, referral partners and representatives from the charities involved.
Ms. Davies was “incredibly grateful” to all those who attended.
“It was a thrill to present a $1,000 cheque to our charity for December, Penrith Community Kitchen. Penrith Community Kitchen assists the homeless, low-income families and those in need within the local Penrith community.
“The kitchen feeds 100+ people a day and volunteers are currently busy preparing for the annual Christmas Appeal, which feeds, nurtures and reignites the Christmas spirit into the hearts of those who would have otherwise gone without.”
January's charity of choice is the Police Citizens Youth Clubs NSW that aims to positively impact the lives of vulnerable, at-risk and disadvantaged young people across NSW, and empower them to fulfill their potential through police and community partnerships.
“We look forward to shining a light on this worthwhile cause via our social media channels next month!”
Ms Davies said reaching 20 years in business was a milestone to be “extremely proud of”.
“But it’s also a milestone that I couldn’t have reached without the support of the local community and my loyal client base.”
She said she had helped many clients purchase homes, cars, and investment properties, and they had remained loyal and referred her business to others.
“In return, it’s time to say thank you and celebrate,” Ms Davies said.
Ms Davies has also recently expanded to MoneyQuest Mackay in Queensland, and told The Adviser earlier this year that it made sense after COVID-19 to do so.
“I’ve learnt that you don’t actually need to be where you want to work. If I can find quality brokers that would support me [in Queensland], why wouldn’t I want to expand the brand out there?”
She is also a four-time winner of the “Best Customer Service” category at the Australian Mortgage Awards and was named the “Editor’s Choice” for 2022 at the NSW Better Business Awards for demonstrating leadership, improving the financial literacy of her clients, and mentoring the next generation of mortgage brokers.
