A new commercial division is to be headed up by Angus Macdonald, Melbourne-based UFinancial has announced.
Financial services company UFinancial, which started in 2008 as a mortgage broking firm and made The Adviser’s Top 25 Brokerages list for 2022, has further expanded its team and range by adding a new hire to run its recently created in-house commercial and asset finance division, it confirmed on Tuesday (17 January).

According to the company, “awarded finance consultant” Angus Macdonald will now lead it, given his experience in “negotiation, coaching, sales and relationship management”.
The decision to have an in-house commercial and asset finance division was rooted in the company’s mission statement: “To deliver end-to-end holistic financial solutions that support our customers to thrive and grow over their entire financial journeys”, the company explained.
UFinancial founder — and one of five directors — Leigh Deledio said it is UFinancial’s “diversified, full-service business model” that sets the company apart from competitors.
Presently, in addition to providing mortgage broking services, UFinancial provides financial planning, accounting, tax, business, and property advice services to its customers, it confirmed.
“As a result of our well-rounded offering, we can meet our customers’ financial needs on an ongoing basis, not just when they need a loan,” said Mr Deledio.
“All their needs are taken care of under one roof.”
An expert needed for the role
The company outlined that after working with commercial and asset finance for several years and learning from its business partnerships, the directors decided it was time to add commercial and asset finance to complement UFinancial’s in-house suite of services.
Additionally, the directors knew this was not something that could be done without “110 per cent commitment and high-quality expertise”.
Mr Deledio continued: “That’s where Angus Macdonald comes in.
“Angus has a lot of skills that make him perfect for the role.
“He is an awarded finance consultant skilled in negotiation, coaching, sales and relationship management.”
After many meetings and discussions, the company commented it is “very excited” to announce that it has been fortunate enough to secure “not just a director, but also a new partner” to run their in-house commercial and asset finance division.
In addition to bringing extensive experience in commercial and asset finance, Mr Angus also provides UFinancial with executive support and strategic advice, the company stated.
Expansion of services continues
To date, UFinancial has added the following to its in-house asset finance and commercial finance services: car loans, recreational equipment, agricultural machinery, medical equipment finance and business equipment finance (Asset Finance Services); plus commercial property loans, business loans, business overdrafts, development finance, and cash flow lending (Commercial Finance Services).
