Submissions open for Top 25 Brokerages 2024

by Reporter11 minute read

The Adviser is calling for submissions from brokerages across Australia for the Top 25 Brokerages 2024, partnered by NAB.

The Top 25 Brokerages ranking – partnered by National Australia Bank (NAB) – recognises the high-performing broking groups (whether franchise or large independents) that have grown their mortgage books and broker numbers, improved efficiencies and focused on providing stellar customer service, while setting the benchmark for the industry.

Now in its 15th consecutive year, the Top 25 Brokerages ranking is based on figures from the financial year ended 30 June 2023 (FY23).

The Adviser is asking each brokerage brand to provide figures in six key metrics across FY23 in residential, commercial, equipment/asset finance and/or personal loans (and others).

These metrics are:

  • Number of loans settled in FY23.
  • Value of loans settled in FY23.
  • Total value and size of the loan book.
  • Average annual loan book (overall total loan book size divided by years in business).
  • Total number of active brokers/loan writers.
  • Broker efficiency (total volume of loans divided by active brokers).

The final ranking will be based solely on the figures provided. Each brokerage that enters will receive a score for each category from one to 25 (one being the best). The six scores are then added to give an overall final score. The lower the score, the better the ranking.

Speaking of the launch of the Top 25 Brokerages ranking 2024, managing editor of mortgages, Annie Kane, commented: “The financial year 2023 was an incredibly busy one for brokers, as they worked hard to support borrowers accessing finance in a rising interest rate environment. Whether it was to refinance clients rolling off their fixed rates, help first home buyers navigate a rapidly changing lending environment and support businesses in managing cash flow, brokers have been extremely busy supporting their clients in this changing economy.

“The Top 25 Brokerages ranking recognises the biggest broking businesses that have been growing their books and delighting borrowers with their service. From national franchise brokerage brands to independently owned brokerages, the ranking celebrates the top broking companies in Australia.

“We look forward to revealing the ranking in early 2024.”

Submissions for the rankings close on Wednesday, 15 November 2023 COB.

To enter this ranking, brokerages must meet the following criteria:

  • The brokerage must have a minimum of three brokers/loan writers that operate under the company brand.
  • The brokerage must be accredited with at least four banks.

In their submissions, brokerages must also provide a detailed verification that confirms the provided figures from their accountant, CRM or brokerage.
