Lendi Group welcomes new hire to spearhead AI initiatives

by Charlotte Humphrys10 minute read

The broking group has welcomed a former major bank senior leader in a newly created role focusing on developing AI initiatives for brokers.

Lendi Group, which includes two of the top brokerages in 2024, has appointed a new general manager of data Jade Clarke .

The former head of commercial data analytics at Westpac DataX moved to Lendi Group to develop broker AI tools in December 2023.

Ms Clarke was the founder and head of Westpac DataX, which offers commercial data expertise to support clients to make data-driven decisions. She also has previous leadership experience across data and financial services, having worked with the Australian Banking Association as an associate director and as a policy officer for the NSW state government.

The newly created role will be “tech-driven” and “data-focused” according to the group. Ms Clarke will further the development of new AI initiatives that Lendi Group has said it is preparing to roll out this year.

For example, the group is releasing two broker assistant AI tools: one that will summarise broker and client interactions and the other that aims to fast-track policy-related questions from brokers about the 2,500 products across the group’s platform.

The group claims that these AI-assistant tools are set to save brokers thousands of hours of work annually.

Travis Tyler, who was recently appointed as chief product officer of Lendi Group, will be working alongside Ms Clarke.

He said: “Continuing our data-driven decision making is an important step towards cementing our position as two of the leading brokerages in Australia.

“We are deeply focused on remaining at the helm of innovation that will ensure all home loan customers have the simplest property journey possible, including timely access to best-suited products, rates as well as expert brokers.

“With a wealth of experience in data-led businesses Jade will lead the charge in further empowering our vision of innovation, focused on providing brokers with the knowledge and tools they need to provide unparalleled service.”

Speaking about her new role, Ms Clarke stated: “As a strong advocate for data-led product innovation, I’m delighted to be joining an organisation which aligns to my values and vision of the data-driven future.

”With over 1 million customers who have already used Lendi technology for their home loan, and 1,300 brokers across both Aussie and Lendi now powered by a best-in-breed broker platform, there are exciting opportunities to leverage data, innovate and deliver ongoing value to our customers and brokers, embedding even better experiences across the mortgage industry.”

AI tools, such as ChatGPT and AI Calendar software are being used by brokers to better support their business dealings without replacing them.
