Brokers reveal their plans and predictions for 2025

by Ben Squires13 minute read

As many brokers return to work this week, we’ve asked some of our readers what they’re focusing on this year to grow their businesses.

Growth and fresh inspiration

2025 is about growth and connection for Aussie Windsor. I’m building on the lessons from my first year as a franchisee to offer even more personalised, high-quality service, combining genuine care with Lendi’s cutting-edge technology.

This year, I’m excited to give back by volunteering with Financial Superwoman, helping women regain financial independence after divorce or separation. Community and collaboration will also be key focuses, as we strengthen partnerships with local businesses through cross-promotions and joint initiatives.

The Lendi Group conference in March will provide fresh inspiration and ideas to refine my strategies, while case studies and media appearances will continue to elevate Aussie Windsor as a trusted mortgage expert.

We’ll also prioritise educational content, empowering clients to navigate the mortgage process confidently. 2025 promises to be a year of growth, impact, and making a real difference.

Mentoring and new challenges

After being a broker for just over seven years, I feel that I am in a great position with my team. We have fine-tuned our skills and processes and all is humming along smoothly, for the most part!

This year will bring on new challenges. I have a parabroker who just started maternity leave and another who is becoming a broker herself. My role will include mentoring and helping her develop referral partnerships.

I am looking forward to 2025. I have focused for years on creating a lifestyle that, in my opinion, has just the right mix of work, family, and fun times so this will remain the goal as I take on more responsibilities and aim to help just as many clients, if not more, than in previous years.

Investing in culture and tech

At Wealthfolio, our plans for the year ahead focus on further growing our dedicated team, enhancing our technology and processes, and exploring new marketing opportunities.

On the team front, we’re committed to fostering a fun, collaborative culture with a focus on work/life balance. Working in this industry can be demanding, so supporting our team’s wellbeing is a priority. In 2025, we’ll focus on adding the right team members with the right mindset to complement our longstanding staff. We’ll also expand our offshore team, having recently hired our first offshore staff member.

On the technology side, we’ll focus on further automating our process workflows and streamlining our client rate reviews to deliver even better service. For the first time, we’ll explore formal marketing and learn how it can support our growth in 2025, helping us connect with a wider audience and drive further success.

Leading in an ever-evolving landscape

Over the next year, I aim to continue expanding my presence as a leader in the development/construction lending sector, with a commitment to strengthening my long-term client relationships and staying well-informed with the evolving lending landscape to ensure I’m delivering the right solutions.

Building on over $850 million in settled transactions and several industry accolades, I will continue to be a role model and advocate for more women in commercial broking, empowering diversity in the industry. I anticipate more liquidity in the construction lending market next year, driven by a stabilisation of costs, improved project feasibilities, and continued increases in housing demand. I expect to see increased inquiry for construction lending in 2025, as developers start to see better project returns.

To best support my clients, my main focus will be on my lender relationships to ensure I’m providing tailored solutions to each project.

A new office and helping more borrowers

It’s going to be a very, very exciting year ahead for Madd Loans. We’re getting a new office space and I can’t wait for everyone to see it. I’ve seen the renders and it is going to be the dream! It is such a fantastic office space here in Seven Hills in Brisbane.

For me, I just want to keep going forward, keep powering through, hopefully with some rate cuts (if we see them!). That’s going to help those people borrow a little bit more money because the assessment rate is going to go down. Hopefully, that’s going to help more and more people get their foot in the door, help them reach their version of financial freedom.

At the end of the day, I just want to keep working with my amazing team behind me, really power through, smash those numbers and yeah, just basically see where 2025 takes us! I have a big feeling that it’s going to be a massive year and I’m so excited and I couldn’t think of yet doing it with anyone else other than the Madd team.
