The service will help brokers manage contractors and employees under NCCP and the Fair Work Act.
While some have seen the legislative changes as frustrating and onerous, Ballast believes that genuine legislative reform is long overdue and will increase consumer choice and service levels for all Australians.
Ballast general manager Frank Paratore said the sweeping changes were seen as a positive move to ensure the finance industry was brought in line with other financial services industries.
“As a business, Ballast supports any positive reform for an industry that has long been seen as non-transparent and self-serving, so providing tailored human resource service for brokers to manage their contractors and employees under NCCP and Fair Work Act was seen as a logical progression” he said.
While ASIC requires finance broking businesses to have a human resource management system in place, Mr Paratore said the tailored service provided by Ballast is an “all encompassing” management system in a simple to use format.
“In our experience the best practice firms are underpinned by the way in which their staff and/or contractors work together and interact with clients. Having the right human resources policies, procedures and framework in place is paramount in creating and maintaining a productive, high performing team. The human resource service is designed to provide practical solutions on how to implement best HR techniques – from job descriptions, KPI’s, policies and procedures, performance plans, induction manuals, award and wage information to employee and contractor templates,” he said.
