Speaking to The Adviser, ING DIRECT’s head of broker distribution Mark Woolnough said the initiative was being rolled out to all of its broker partners after a very successful trial earlier in the year.
“By the end of the year, all brokers that deal with ING DIRECT will have direct access to credit assessors and credit managers,” he said.
“We trialled the initiative earlier this year and were really buoyed by the results. We have seen increased efficiencies as well as better pass through rate to approval. But, most importantly, the feedback we got from our brokers was overwhelmingly positive around the satisfaction and experience in being able to talk directly to the decision makers.”
Mr Woolnough’s announcement comes hot on the heels of ING DIRECT’s decision to distribute its term deposits through Australia Post.
While the bank has made it very clear that it has no plans to distribute mortgages through Australia Post, its decision to partner the company shows ING DIRECT is committed to expanding its customer reach very quickly.
